I made a comment and i think it was pretty good? If you grow up around things you start getting used to whats going to happen next so it wont really affect them!
The most interesting comment made during our discussion was how would kids feel if they see a dead body on the floor, and just walk away not even caring.
Actually the most Interesting thing about our group conversation was talking about our old middle schools. I usually don't like talking about It even though I miss some of my friends that went there. Actually kanye brought up some connection with getting used to things around you and adapting to that way of life. we talked about not being able to figure out the difference between a firecracker and a gun shot when we were eight, and how we all saw dead bodies before and It completely freaked us out.and then looped all the way back to middle school with good and BAD memories.
I had a comment that was good " is the expression " kill for a piece of candy" can you say this about this quote in life." I use that quote because I've been and seen a mugging by my house that I was a part of but like this quote some people just steal anything these days now.
We had a lot of great discussions, but the one that stood out to me a lot was when we were talking about how kids who lived in Ida B. Wells follow the foot steps of the people around them. And how what they see is what they think they will only get in life. They are all stuck in a little box brainwashed by everything around them. They can't see that there is something better out there for them. They just never witnessed someone coming out of Ida B. Wells as something. They don't see that its possible to become something. Its as if they think they were born as a play. They know whats going to happen next,they know their life. But it is possible for them to come out and make something of themselves they just need someone to go there and bring hope back into their lives.
The most interesting comment is when someone said if the parents should go to jail if there kids killed someone.And is something that i think that was interesting.
